The
Gospel message is being preached daily and new converts
are added to the fold; new congregations are being planted in
all the provinces of Cameroon. All ages are strategically targeted through
Youth, Women’s Missionary Union, Men’s Missionary Union, and Pastor’s Fellowship
ministries. In the face of such tremendous growth, the
need for more trained pastors has continued to
be more and more pressing. Of the 106 Churches we work with, only 35 have trained pastors, 71 are led by laymen with no formal pastoral education. Some of the pastors in these Churches have only junior high level education or less. Nevertheless, the Lord is using them mightily.
In
response to this crying need, Cry Cameroon partnered
with the Cameroon National Baptist Convention [CNBC] in
establishing the Baptist International School of Theology [B I S T] to train pastors locally to serve in these Churches.
Praise the Lord! the doors of Baptist
International School of Theology were opened in
1999. As expected, this young school continues to
face lots of difficulties and needs in so
many areas --- qualified staff, books for the
library, adequate infrastructures, scholarships, and
funds to cover the overhead cost .
Since
many of our young
student pastors cannot afford the cost of attending the school,
Cry Cameroon has set up "Spread
the Gospel
Scholarship Fund" [S T G F] to
help the most deserving student pastors.
-----------------------------------------------------
FUN FACT
It
costs approximately$12 000/ year to train a
pastor in a seminary in the USA. 40 pastors could be
trained locally in Cameroon for the same amount in a
year!!!!

I pray
the Lord would lead you to join this faith
venture by sponsoring a pastor, contributing
to the " Spread the Gospel
Scholarship Fund" [S T G F], and/or by Volunteering in Cameroon!
Please
Invest in the training
of God's servants in Cameroon
